Abubalay: About

Okay, you've clicked the About link (or, if you have nothing to do, typed in the url or clicked a bookmark that you somehow had to the about page...). So I guess we'd better have an explanation of Abubalay on here. It's a rather long story- so we'll have a table of contents.

Introduction

The Origin of "Abubalay"

Well, I guess you want to know where the actual word "Abubalay" came from. Well, too bad. I don't really know. I just started saying it one day, probably because I had just eaten something sugary. It originally had a different feel to it, as if it was spelled "Abubaleigh." Even though that's not pronounced any differently, it kind of feels weirder. I stopped using it after a while, for no apparent reason, and then began using it again as an exclamation. All of a sudden, after several weeks of happy Abubalays, I started calling our little circle of friends The Order of Abubalay.

The Order of Abubalay

The Order of Abubalay is a small group of friends that are all insane. Except for one. Who's only sort of insane. >:) As of now, there are 4 (?) members. There are maybe 2 or 3 more that are kind of fuzzy on their membership. We are also kind of geeky and are very annoying to most of the people around us that annoy us. When we act normally (for us) then all the people we find annoying just magically seem irritated! It's really cool, because they just leave us alone! All the people who don't find us annoying are potential canditates for The Order.

The Origin and Philosophies of The Order

Well, you got a taste of where we came from up there in the introduction, but here's the whole story. ABUBALAY is just a word I made up randomly. Then our group of friends kind of appeared. Sort of like a Sith cult. That was about when we were finishing 7th grade... We developed our cool personalities that annoy annoying people. >:) We started finding our favorite software for all the different types of things on the computer (like Firefox for web browsing and FileZilla for FTP. Well those are mine anyway... :P We as a group prefer Flash, Game Maker, XNA Game Studio in Visual C#, MilkyTracker and Audacity).

The Purpose of The Order

The purpose of The Order of Abubalay is to make cool stuff. I know you were expecting a really deep, profound, cool-sounding purpose, but you're just going to have to live with this one. We make games, art, movies and other stuff like that. That's pretty much it. And we annoy annoying people.

Joining The Order

Well, I know by now you all want to join this amazing Order, but you can't right now. You might have a chance. We're working on a big test thing with lots of cool puzzles. You'll have to get through them all before we'll consider your application.

The Site's Purpose

The site's purpose is to show off all the cool stuff The Order has made. Not much else. :P Have fun looking at all the cool stuff we've made, and go try to join (if you think you're good enough. >:) )

Site History

This site has now been re-written four times (unnoticably because it's only structure improvments) in only one or two weeks. This is probably the final rewrite before we start working past v1, so happily we can add some content now. Wait until the site is done before it shows up though.
